Is the recession a grand conspiracy by the Minutemen?

June 6, 2008 · 6 Comments

NBC San Diego reports that the recession may be directly responsible for reducing the number of illegal immigrants in the U.S.

According to a new report by the Pew Hispanic Center, the national economic downturn — particularly in the construction industry — could be encouraging immigrants to leave the country or not come over in the first place.

More than 220,000 Hispanic immigrants lost construction jobs in the last year, according to the report.
