A link from a Drudge Report headline to the National Enquirer leads to a “404 – Page Not Found” error as of this writing. The National Enquirer’s main site also appears to be down, perhaps as a result from the surge of traffic from Drudge.
The headine:
NATIONAL ENQUIRER CORNERS JOHN EDWARDS AT BEVERLY HILTON...
The URL leads to an entry at National Enquirer that apparently reads: Sen. John Edwards with Mistress and Love Child In LA Hotel.”
*UPDATE (5:33pm): I couldn’t find anyone else who had the problem with accessing the National Enquirer’s site, so it just may have been a problem with my AT&T wifi connection at Starbucks, and not a site crash.

i can’t see the site either. it shows a 404 error on the link above, but accessing the domain itself shows a simple “Page unavailable/under construction.”
